Obituary
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Terri Lynn Coole, born on February 18,
1982 at the Grace Hospital in St. John’s NL. After a brave and determined health battle, she was called home far too soon.
Terri Lynn was the cherished daughter of Glen and Ada Coole, and beloved sister to Preston (Maggie) and Kelly (Jonathan). Her nieces, Peyton and Charleigh were so important to Terri Lynn. She was the devoted and adoring mother of her son, Randel (Lorne) who was the very center of her life and the joy of her heart. Terri Lynn poured her energy, wisdom, and love into raising Randell, grounding him in the values that endure and cheering him on in every endeavour.
As the eldest grandchild of Jack and Velma Curtis, Terri Lynn held a special place in her family’s heart. She came from a large, close-knit family where she was always the spark of laughter, the source of fun, and the steady presence of compassion. Her circle of friends was wide and loyal, a testament to the joy, kindness, and warmth she carried into every relationship. She was often referred to by her closest friends as being a “force of nature”, her infectious laughter and smile brightened everyone’s day and brought light to every room she entered.
Professionally, Terri Lynn was a woman of remarkable dedication and perseverance. She worked as a Compliance Analyst with Co Labs Software, where her colleagues became like family. The Coole family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Co Labs for their unwavering support during this time. Terri Lynn also served as a Licensed Practical Nurse and later as the Center director for the Jackman Eye Institute, where she played a pivotal role in the opening of the first ambulatory surgical center in Newfoundland. Her tenacity, courage, and leadership left a lasting mark on the medical community and the lives of those she served.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Terri Lynn gave generously of her time and talents. She was a committed community coach in a variety of sports leagues, always encouraging young athletes and, above all, standing as Randell’s biggest cheerleader. Her compassion reached into the hidden corners of people’s lives, offering comfort, kindness, and hope where it was most needed.
Terri Lynn will be remembered for her compassion, kindness, joyfulness, tenacity, perseverance, and courage. Everyone who knew her is better for it.
Terri Lynn was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and her life reflected His love in countless ways. We take comfort in the words of Scripture:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” — Revelation 21:4. As believers in Christ, we hold fast to the hope that this is not goodbye, but rather see you again.
Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Bethesda Pentecostal Church on Monday, October 20 at 11 a.m. Terri Lynn will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Beaumont Hamel Way.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Care Foundation, The TLC Fund. The TLC Fund is CoLab’s in-house charitable initiative created in memory of TLC. She spearheaded this program during her time with us, driven by her passion to support those in her community.
CoLab will continue this work by partnering with the cancer centre on a special project in her honour. https://cancercarefoundation.ca/donate/in-memory/
