We believe that it is a privilege to serve. God frees His people and gives them gifts and talents so that we may serve Him and others, as an act of worship (Exodus 8 and Romans 12).

In the process, we become more like Christ, who came to serve, rather than to be served (Matthew 20:28). Jesus said, “If any of you wants to serve me, then follow me. Then you’ll be where I am, ready to serve at a moment’s notice. The Father will honour and reward anyone who serves me” (John 12:16, MSG).

Interested in serving?

Submit a Volunteer Application

The first step for anyone interested in serving is to simply submit a volunteer application. You can do that by submitting a volunteer form online, by texting the word  ‘Serve’ to (709) 701-3336, or by visiting the Guest Services desk and picking up a volunteer packet.  When completed, simply return it to the Guest Services desk or drop it off to the main office. Once we have your volunteer application, we will be in contact with you about next steps.

Serve via Gifting/Passion

As Bethesda continues to grow, so do the opportunities to volunteer and serve. We believe there is a place for everyone to belong and to use their talents and abilities to serve others.

Lead a Small Group

Take a deeper step in your faith by leading a small group. Leading a small group does not mean you have all the answers, nor does it mean you are perfect. It simply means that you desire to grow deeper in your faith by serving and leaders others. If you are interested in becoming a Small Group Leader, please contact our Small Group Director, Ralph.

Serve in the Community

At Bethesda, we believe in the power of partnership and that God honours us when we serve organizations in our city. Over the past number of years, we have partnered with several community organization such as the Community Food Sharing Association, MacMorran Community Centre, Rabbittown Community Centre, Virginia Park Community Centre, SPAN, and others. Whether you serve at these organizations or others, we encourage you to find a place in the city where you can make a difference and be Christ in the community.
